Hear Lady Gaga take on Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ for new covers album

'Revamp' will feature Elton classics covered by The Killers, Florence and more

Lady Gaga has covered Elton John‘s ‘Your Song’ for a new tribute album.

Elton recently announced the album ‘Revamp’, which features a selection of his classic songs covered by the likes of The Killers, Florence & The Machine, Queens Of The Stone Age and many more.

Set for release on April 6, ‘Revamp’ boasts ‘reimagined’ versions of hits including ‘We All Fall In Love’, ‘Candle In The Wind’, and more by a host of Sir Elton’s friends and past collaborators – including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus and Mumford & Sons.

Gaga has now turned ‘Your Song’ into a modern, very Gaga-like defiant pop ballad. Listen below.

On Twitter, Gaga wrote that it was a “honour” to cover “one of the greatest songs of all time”.

“It’s always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it,” Sir Elton has said of the covers LP. “As songwriters, Bernie and myself are thrilled when singers we admire and respect as much as those on ‘Revamp’ choose to add their own unique twist in the process.

“It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences. We’re humbled and thank them all for their generosity.”
