Lady Gaga performs special Christmas gig on the roof of London’s Westfield shopping centre

Gaga kicks off Christmas in style

Lady Gaga took to the roof of London’s Westfield shopping centre last night to perform an intimate gig for a 100 lucky fans. Check out photos from the show above.

To kick off the festive season, Gaga performed a stripped-back, acoustic show on piano and guitar from inside Westfield’s ‘Snow Globe’.

With just a piano and guitar, she performed in front of London’s lit-up night skyline for a selection of competition winners, performing ‘Bad Romance’, Joanne’ and new single ‘Million Reasons’.

“I love my London and UK fans so much, and performing my new music for them in such an intimate and spectacular location was the perfect way to celebrate the holidays,” she said.

Speaking to the crowd, she said: “Money has been put on a pedestal, beauty has been put on a pedestal, celebrity has been put on a pedestal. I have travelled the world and seen the happiest people in the poorest parts of the world. Their values are intact.

“In the richest homes I meet the saddest and most depressed people. With this album I wanted to remind the whole world and my fans that the most important things are love and kindness. Kindness is what will create harmony, not celebrity and not fame.”

Meanwhile, Gaga is set to perform on The X Factor on Sunday night.

Gaga recently made headlines when she led protests outside Trump Tower after Donald Trump won the US Presidential election.

“I want to live in a #CountryOfKindness #LoveTrumpsHate,” she wrote on Instagram. “He divided us so carelessly. Let’s take care now of each other.”

This came after Gaga earlier challenged Donald Trump and his wife Melania. After Trump’s prospective First Lady used a recent speech to bemoan online bullying, Gaga accused her of hypocrisy. Tweeting at Melania, Gaga wrote: “to say u will stand for “anti-bullying” is hypocrisy. Your husband is 1 of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed.”

She then tweeted at Donald Trump, writing: “you divided us with hateful language & fear. I love everyone in this country and I vote for @HillaryClinton to unite us.”
