Lana Del Rey has revealed that she sang at the wedding celebrations of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for free.
Refuting rumours that she was paid $2.8 million to perform, Del Rey told TMZ that she wasn’t paid to play the event. “I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding,” she commented. She performed at a pre-wedding party on May 23 held at the Palace of Versailles outside of Paris.
The actual wedding was held the following day at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, a 16th-century fortress. Kardashian was walked down the aisle by her stepfather Bruce Jenner as opera star Andrea Bocelli sang.
Lana Del Rey releases her ‘Ultraviolence’ album on June 16, which features the tracks ‘Shades Of Cool’ and the Dan Auerbach-produced ‘West Coast’. The full version of the album’s title track was performed earlier this week by Del Rey at a gig in Vancouver – watch fan-filmed footage of it here.
