Lana Del Rey discusses kidnap attempt against her for the first time

"After what happened in Orlando, I just really wanted to be here with you guys tonight".

Lana Del Rey reportedly broke down in tears at her first concert since a man was arrested for an alleged kidnap plot against the singer.

Michael Hunt, 43, was reportedly intercepted outside the singer’s Amway Center show in Orlando on Friday night (February 2), after the police received a tip about a potential kidnapping.

Hunt was carrying a knife, Orlando Police later confirmed. He has since been charged with attempted kidnapping

Last night, Del Rey returned to the stage in Atlanta and was visibly emotional as she discussed the incident.

In a video posted on Instagram, Del Rey is seen explaining how the incident had unexpectedly affected her after she arrived on stage

“After what happened in Orlando, I just really wanted to be here with you guys tonight,” Del Rey is seen telling the crowd before wiping away tears.

“I was totally feeling fine and then I just got … a little bit nervous when I got on stage. I just want to say that I’m super happy to be here with you guys. But if I’m a little bit feathery, bear with me”, she added.

Despite the brief hiccup, Del Rey proceeded to play a 20 song set, which she closed with ‘Off To The Races’.

Police previously confirmed that Hunt made “cryptic and threatening” threats on social media towards the singer, along with several posts on what appears to be his personal Facebook page in the days leading up the concert.

“I want to see my queen on Friday and from that day forward our decisions will be as one,” Hunt allegedly wrote on Jan 30.
