Laura Marling reveals ‘Director’s Cut’ of latest album ‘Short Movie’ – hear first song now

New version of 2015 album includes four previously unheard songs

Laura Marling has released a deluxe edition of her latest albu ‘Short Movie’. Scroll down to hear a full-band version of that album’s ‘I Feel Your Love’ now.

Titled ‘Short Movie – Director’s Cut’, the album features two songs reworked from solo to full-band status with I Feel Your Love’ being joined by a new version of ‘Warrior’. Two other songs, B-Sides ‘David’ and ‘Daisy’, are also included on the album.

Speaking about the new styles on the unheard tracks, Marling says: “We recorded them this way to honor the alchemical change that occurs within a musical group when you add a new brain or flavor to it. Pete’s style of playing combined with a lack of need to be delicate for the sake of hearing strings led to the tone becoming thicker and grittier. And as an unexpected result, we discovered that we like sticky rhythms…and seem to speak a similar language in rhythm and tone, it’s a very special quite rare thing!”

Short Movie – Director’s Cut:

‘False Hope’
‘I Feel Your Love’
‘Walk Alone’
‘Don’t Let Me Bring You Down’
‘Gurdjieff’s Daughter’
‘How Can I’
‘Short Movie’
‘Worship Me’
‘I Feel Your Love (Director’s Cut)’
‘Warrior (Director’s Cut)’

Laura Marling recently appeared on Americana singer-songwriter Gill Landry’s new album. The self-titled album was released on June 22, with Marling featuring on song ‘Take This Body’.

Her next live appearance will be at this summer’s End of the Road festival.
