LCD Soundsystem have shared the video for their single ‘oh baby’ – watch the Rian Johnson-directed clip below.
Taken from the New York City band’s 2017 comeback album ‘American Dream’, ‘oh baby”s accompanying and affecting visuals have been directed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi filmmaker Johnson.
Starring Sissy Spacek and David Strathairn, the clips follows two scientists as they attempt to develop a teleportation device and embark “on a devastatingly romantic journey of discovery, tragedy and eternal love” – until, crushingly, their work gets disrupted.
Writing in a statement, LCD frontman James Murphy said of the clip: “My goal would be that it works as a video for the song and the song works as a good soundtrack of the film. Rather than a video that serves the song.”
You can watch LCD Soundsystem’s video for ‘oh baby’ over on Tidal – where it is currently being exclusively housed – and you can see a teaser clip for the video below.

The video for ‘oh baby’ marks the second piece of activity from LCD Soundsystem this month, with the band having covered Chic’s ‘I Want Your Love’ for Spotify’s ongoing Singles series.
The band mashed-up the Chic track with their own song, ‘Home’ – taken from their 2010 album, ‘This Is Happening’.
