Led Zeppelin will not be playing at Cardiff‘s Millennium Stadium – dashing hopes that the legendary rockers would tour in 2009.
The band played London‘s O2 Arena last December, their first show in 17 years. Rumours of a world tour have been rife ever since, with Velvet Revolver even claiming they had bagged a supporting role.
However, Millennium Stadium manager Gerry Toms said: “It’s dead in the water. Because the concert was a success there was hope of a tour, but that was a lot of speculation.
“It would be great if they would, but as far as we know that is dead in the water.”
The band had been in talks with the Welsh Rugby Union earlier in the year and a petition has been signed by more than 16,000 fans hoping to see the band perform once more.
