MACCA ASKS LED ZEP TO REFORM

The ex-Beatle wants the rock legends to appear alongside the likes of Eminem and David Bowie at a concert to raise money for vistims of the US terrorist attacks...

The remaining members of LED ZEPPELIN have been asked to reform to appear alongside heavyweight acts such as EMINEM, LIMP BIZKIT, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, NEIL YOUNG, MARY J BLIGE, DAVID BOWIE, THE WHO and BILLY JOEL in the PAUL McCARTNEY organised fundraiser for victims of the US terrorist attacks.

The galaxy of stars are set for Madison Square Garden in New York on October 20. According to The Sun newspaper today (September 27), the benefit is already being dubbed Live Aid 2.

McCartney has reportedly put the invitation to three surviving members of Led Zeppelin – Robert Plant, Jimmy page and John paul Jones. the band originally split in 1980 after drummer John Bonham’s alcohol-releated death. Miramax film chief Harvey Weinstein – the man behind ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ – is masterminding the show. A TV audience of 80 million, close to the same figure in the US who watched last weekend’s ‘America: A Tribute To Heroes’, is expected.

Host for the evening are expected to include Gwyneth Paltrow and comedians Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.
