First of two 'greatest hits' sets features the best of Zep (and 'Stairway To Heaven')...
Led Zeppelin have the first of two ‘greatest hits’ albums released on November 22.
‘Early Days – The Best Of Led Zeppelin Volume 1’ features material drawn from the band’s first four classic albums along with some rare material of the band in 1969 playing ‘Communicatiuon Breakdown’.
The tracks were selected by former Zep guitarist Jimmy Page – now working on a solo project as is ex-singer Robert Plant leading to speculation that the two have decided to go their separate ways again, though a recent statement from Atlantic records in the US claims that they will work together again.
The second volume will cover the period from ‘Houses Of The Holy’ through to their last album ‘Coda’, released after the death of drummer John Bonham effectively put a full stop to the band.
The tracklist – not as exhaustive as the ‘Remasters’ boxed set released in 1991 and without any unreleased tracks – is as follows:
‘Good Times Bad Times’ ‘Babe I’m Gonna Leave You’ ‘Dazed and Confused’ ‘Communication Breakdown’ ‘Whole Lotta Love’ ‘What Is and What Should Never Be’ ‘Immigrant Song’ ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ ‘Black Dog’ ‘Rock and Roll’ ‘The Battle of Evermore’ ‘When the Levee Breaks’ ‘Stairway to Heaven’ ‘Communication Breakdown’ video
