Leftfield, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, CHAKA KHAN, GRACE JONES and AFRIKA BAMBAATAA are all confirmed to play at an exclusive free party on the island of IBIZA.
The event, called ‘Lynx Phoenix Legends’, takes place on September 16 at Fantasylandia in San Antonio, on Ibiza island. Fantasylandia is a converted zoo set in the hills, overlooking the coastline.
A spokesperson for Lynx told nme.com: “Ibiza is the home of clubbing, so it seems the obvious place to do an event such as this one. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking.”
Tickets, which also include travel, are only available to competition winners. To win tickets, cans of the men’s deodorant Lynx will contain a telephone hotline number from June. People who enter the draw will be chosen at random from the logged calls, and the winners will be notified prior to the event.
This is the third event to be organised by Lynx in as many years. In 1998 they put on the ‘Location Apollo’ event at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire, which featured live performances from Space, Republica and Run DMC, while last year they organised an event to coincide with the Solar Eclipse in Cornwall which featured live performances from Faithless and The Freestylers, and a DJ set from Fatboy Slim.
