Lenny Kravitz testing luxury hotel rooms in New York before they open

The singer has 300 staff "on point to tend to his every request"

Lenny Kravitz has reportedly been testing luxury rooms at the Edition Hotel in New York ahead of its public opening today (May 12).

Page Six reports that the singer, who is apparently a friend of hotel owner Ian Schrager, is staying free of charge in a room worth $8,000 (£5,100) a night, while commanding a 300-strong staff who are “on point to tend to his every request”, according to an unnamed source.

The newspaper reports that Kravitz, who is the hotel’s only guest, has had “the run of the place”, and has been ordering room service even though the restaurant is yet to open.

The hotel recently hosted an afterparty following the premiere of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, where guests included 50 Cent, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany.

Kravitz, a sometime hotel designer, recently confirmed that he will appear in the second season of Fox’s hit Empire along with Chris Rock, Courtney Love and Alicia Keys.
