Leona Lewis to collaborate with Childish Gambino

The single 'Trouble' was written by Emeli Sandé and will be released on October 7

Leona Lewis is set to join forces with US rapper Childish Gambino – otherwise known as actor and comedian Donald Glover – on her forthcoming new single, ‘Trouble’.

The single, which was written by Emeli Sande, will be released on October 7, a week before her third studio album, ‘Glassheart’, which will finally be out on October 15 after a number of delays.

Originally set for release in November 2011, Lewis’ third album was then pushed back to March of this year and then this autumn. As well as Sande, the album is set to feature songwriting and production from Ryan Tedder, Ammo, Fraser T Smith, Steve Robson, Autumn Rowe and Sandy Vee.

Confirmed tracks on the album include ‘Collide’ with Avicii, ‘Trouble’, ‘Glassheart’, ‘Fire Flies’ and ‘Sugar’.

Earlier this year, Leona Lewis covered Nine Inch Nails‘ 1994 single ‘Hurt’. The track, which was originally released as part of Nine Inch Nails‘ seminal second album ‘The Downward Spiral’, was also famously covered in 2002 by Johnny Cash.

Lewis’ version of ‘Hurt’ came from her last EP, which also contained covers of ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls and ‘Colorblind’ by Counting Crows.
