Les Savy Fav play eventful warm-up show

But what was Tim Harrington doing in the ladies?

Les Savy Fav warmed up for today’s ShockWaves NME Awards show with a tiny show in Bedford last night (February 9).

The cult New Yorkers played the Esquires club to an audience of just 150 that included Kate Jackson from The Long Blondes.

Taking to the stage at 10.10pm, the fivesome played a 70 minute show comprised of songs spread right across their 13 year career, including new single ‘Patty Lee’, taken from last year’s ‘Let’s Stay Friends’ album, and a cover of Archers Of Loaf‘s ‘Wrong’.

The gig saw frontman Tim Harrington on riotous form initially coming onstage dressed as a sailor complete with pipe, hat and fake scar only to change into a hippy’s garb for the encore. Harrington also leaped behind the venue’s bar, bounded down the venue’s front stairs almost onto the street and explored the ladies toilets with a fan’s camcorder.

Joking before he left the stage he said: “We are Les Savy Fav from Bedford. We’re getting an apartment here we like it so much.”

They played:

‘What Would Wolves Do?’

‘Patty Lee’

‘Reprobates Resume’

‘The Equestrian’

‘Yawn Yawn Yawn’

‘We’ll Make A Lover Of You’

‘One Way Widow’

‘Sweat Descends’

‘Scotchgard The Credit Card’

‘Scout’s Honour’

‘Raging In The Plague Age’
