Liam reviews Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

'It sounds like Blur' says former Oasis frontman

Liam Gallagher has reviewed Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds, after hearing some of the songs on TV and radio.

Liam has been openly critical of Noel in recent times, calling his brother a “potato” on a regular basis. However, he has said that he wants an Oasis reunion “for the fans”.

Speaking to Q magazine, Liam said of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds: “It’s good. Typical Noel songs. I find ‘AKA… What a Life!’ a bit homoerotic, you know what I mean? I don’t find it sexy myself but there’s something about it… if I’d sung it it would’ve changed the whole dynamic. I’d have made it 100 times better”

He continued, comparing the track to Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. He did praise some tracks however, stating that he likes ‘Everybody’s On The Run’.

Speaking of recent single ‘In The Heat of the Movement’, he said “But that new one with the na-na-na bit? No not having that, at all. It sounds like Blur.”

Continuing, he said: “And the one with the sax? All that needs to be nipped in the bud. Our kid’s not weird enough to go Bowie. Putting a sax on it doesn’t make you Starman.”
