Liam Gallagher responds to backlash for calling Freddie Mercury a ‘goofy c**t’

"I don't know why people get offended by the word 'c**t'"

Liam Gallagher has taken to Twitter to respond after receiving backlash for referring to Freddie Mercury as a ‘goofy c**t’.

The former Oasis and Beady Eye turned solo star was Tweeting over the weekend, when one of his followers sent him a Tweet comparing him to the late Queen frontman  – writing “Freddie Mercury – ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Liam Gallagher – ‘Songbird’.”

Gallagher then replied: “Fuck him the goofy c**t’.

Many followers were less than pleased. One wrote, “I hope you are joking, much respect to Freddy though.”

Another added: “Really? But he is better than you anyway  He was history and you are nugatory . Grow up Liam . Don’t be jealous of FREDDIE Mercury. He rocked the stage like nobody did before.”

After also taking aim at Coldplay and Jeff Buckley in a series of Tweets, Gallagher then replied to his critics.

“So I wake up to news that I hit another and I mean another all time low after my vile and I mean vile outburst outburst did somebody say outburst about Fred mercy,” he Tweeted. “I’m sooooooo sorry if I upset anybody it’s a good job there’s 24 hours in a day as you’ll get over it LG x”

Gallagher added: “Last thing I don’t know why people get offended by the word c**t I get called a good looking cunt everyday don’t hear me crying as you were LGx”

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher says that he is currently “flying through” work on his next solo album – but revealed that he’ll be “taking a breather” after that.
