A gun found on Lil Wayne‘s tour bus may be admitted as evidence in the rap star’s trial, a New York City judge ruled today (February 24).
Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was charged with illegal gun possession in 2007 after a police officer boarded his tour bus because she allegedly smelled marijuana, and discovered the rap star trying to hide a handgun.
The 26-year-old rapper has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and has been freed on $70,000 bail, reports the Associated Press. His attorney claims that the officer invented the marijuana allegations so she could enter the bus.
