Lil Xan played Tupac classic ‘California Love’ at a live show – just weeks after coming under fire for labelling the late rap icon “boring”.
The rapper made the controversial comments earlier this month during an interview with Revolt TV. When asked for his opinion on Tupac, the 21-year-old dismissively shrugged and said he made “boring music”.
This led to the likes of Waka Flocka Flame hitting out at Lil Xan, saying that he should be “banned from hip hop”.
It was later reported that Lil Xan had to be rescued by police after being confronted by angry Tupac fans.
At a recent live show in Pomona, California, Xan appeared to make reference to the furore by playing ‘California Love’ by Tupac and Dr Dre.

Lil Xan had previously appeared to backtrack on his comments in a meet-and-greet with fans. See in the video beneath.
“The media twisted my words, I think Tupac is a legend,” he told a crowd. “Tupac is definitely a legend. That’s what’s up, Tupac a legend, they just twist your words and they want you to hate me. Don’t hate me. Positivity over everything.”
Lil Xan – real name Diego Leanos – releases his debut album ‘Total Anarchy’ on April 6.
