Lily Allen confirms return to music by tweeting ‘I’m coming back, bitches’

Singer has also launched a new official website

Lily Allen has confirmed her return to music with the launch of a new official website.

Earlier today (August 30) the singer changed her Twitter handle from @lilyrosecooper, her married name, to @lilyallen. She then tweeted: “Hello, im Lily Allen…”, before adding:

This apparently confirms that she will continue to use her maiden name ‘Allen’ for her music career, despite claiming in August last year that she would be changing her professional name to Lily Rose Cooper.

The singer had teased her return yesterday (August 29) by posting a screen-grab from her new official site, which had not then been launched. The website, now live, currently features links to her various social media profiles, a selection of her old videos and an option for fans to sign up for a newsletter “to get new album news first”.

Earlier this month (August 20), Allen revealed on Twitter that she could be ready to release her comeback single in March or April next year. She has recently been in the studio working with producer Greg Kurstin, who contributed to her last album, 2009’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’, as well as Naughty Boy. In May, she revealed that her new album is “shaping up pretty well” and said it will feature songs “about babies and nappies”. The singer gave birth to her second child, Marnie, on January 8 this year.

Meanwhile, Allen made her chart comeback last month (July) with a “featuring” appearance on Pink‘s latest single ‘True Love’, which has peaked at Number 16 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. Allen also makes a cameo in the track’s video, which you can click to watch below.
