Lily Allen says she turned down ‘Game Of Thrones’ cameo

She felt 'uncomfortable' with playing her real life brother's sister in the fantasy show

Lily Allen has said that she turned down a cameo appearance in popular fantasy show, Game Of Thrones.

The ‘Sheezus’ singer revealed the news during a Reddit AMA, saying she was asked to play the sister of Theon, who is played by her real life brother, Alfie Allen. “I’ve been asked to do a Game Of Thrones cameo, they asked me if I’d be interested in playing Theon’s sister. I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and shit. Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks.” She added that she would be keen on making music for the show, however, writing: “I would be open to doing a musical cameo like Sigur Rós, though.”

Sigur Rós recently covered ‘The Rains Of Castamere’, originally recorded by The National, on an episode of the show titled ‘The Lion And The Rose’, which was broadcast on Sky Atlantic in the UK on April 14. As previously reported, members of Sigur Rós also appear in the new series of Game Of Thrones. Jonsi Birigisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason shot scenes in Croatia for the HBO show’s fourth series.

The bandmates play musicians in the programme and their cameo came about as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are big fans of the Icelandic band and listened to their music while shooting the previous series in Iceland. Coldplay drummer Will Champion and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody made cameo appearances in series three of the programme.

On Sunday (May 11) Lily Allen‘s third album ‘Sheezus’ topped the Official Albums Chart, outselling both Gary Barlow’s ‘Since I Saw You Last’, which leaped 36 places to Number Two following a recent BBC documentary, and ‘Caustic Love’ by Paolo Nutini, which had previously held the Number One spot and is the year’s fastest-selling album.
