The pop singer broke the news at last night's Brit Awards
Lily Allen delivered her finished third album to her record label, Regal/Parlophone, yesterday (February 19).
The singer-songwriter revealed that she had finished her third album on the red carpet at the Brit Awards, reports the BBC. The record will follow 2006’s ‘Alright, Still’ and 2009’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’.
Earlier this month Allen unveiled the video for her song ‘Air Balloon’, which is expected to be on the new album. The song will be released as a single on March 2, and follows her Number One cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and ‘Hard Out Here’. The video was shot in Cape Town and was directed by That Go.
Allen also unveiled another new track this month, called ‘L8 CMMR’, which features on the soundtrack of the current series of Girls. Commenting on why she contributed music to the series, Allen said: “I think the show is brilliant, so it was more or less a no brainer for me. Greg Kurstin, who produced and co-wrote this track with me, played a few of the new tracks for a friend of his who works on the show. Apparently [Manish Raval, music supervisor] loved the songs, and later came back to Greg asking if he could include one of the tracks in an episode.”
Lily Allen will perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of a one-off charity show this April. The singer will play live on April 1 as part of children’s charity Coram‘s City Rocks event. Coram is the world’s oldest children’s charity and celebrates its 275th birthday in 2014.
