The guitarist says he "held the band back" before quitting last year...
WES BORLAND has said Limp Bizkit will be “better” now he’s not with the band.
Borland walked out on the group last year. Since, the remaining members of Limp Bizkit have been holding a series of open auditions across the US in an attempt to find a replacement.
Now, speaking to MTV news in the US, Borland elaborated on his reasons for leaving, and spoke of his new band, Eat The Day.
He said: “Bells start going off. I’m enjoying all the perks of (Limp Bizkit), but I feel my heart is going black, because this is not what I’m called to do. The little voice inside my head says, ‘You should be somewhere else. You should take the risk. You should let it go.’
“I think they’ll be better now that I’m gone. I think I held them back from being their best, because I was so against all the things that were going on.”
Borland said that if he’d remained with the band it would have “been about the money and not about the true music”, so he formed new band, Eat The Day. His new band expect to enter the studio in the spring and work on 18 self-produced songs.
Borland continued: “I don’t feel like singing should be taken lightly. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it’s coming along.”
