Nu-metal titans LINKIN PARK have stormed straight to the top of the US album chart with their second album ‘METEORA’.
The eagerly awaited shifted 810,000 copies in its first week of sales, a little short of the 870,000 copies of debut album ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin”50 Cent managed to sell in its first seven days of release earlier this year.
Linkin Park ‘s debut album, ‘Hybrid Theory’, entered the US album chart at 16 back in 2000, but went on to become the top-selling album of 2001, and has now sold nearly eight million copies in the US alone.
‘Meteora’ also currently tops the UK album charts, but is tipped to be toppled after one week by [a][/a]’s new album ‘Elephant’ when the chart is announced on Sunday (April 5).
