Lionel Richie joins Demi Lovato and John Legend on stage during Grammys tribute to his music – watch

Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan and Tyrese also joined in the medley

Lionel Richie joined Demi Lovato and John Legend on stage at the Grammys tonight (February 15) as they performed a medley of some of his classic hits.

Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan and Tyrese also joined the musicians for the performance, which began with Legend performing ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ from a grand piano.

Lovato took over to give her take on ‘Hello’ as Richie was pictured in the crowd punching the air and singing along.

Bryan sang ‘Penny Lover’ while Trainor tackled ‘You Are’. Tyrese then sang ‘Brick House’, before Richie got on stage to join all five for a performance of ‘All Night Long’. You can watch a clip of the latter below.

Speaking to CBS on the red carpet, Richie said he and Adele ‘have to’ do a mash-up of their singles ‘Hello’.

When asked if the pair had met he said: “I’m here to meet her backstage. My opening line is going to be ‘Hello, it’s me’ and she’s going to be like, ‘No, is it me you’re looking for?'”
