Taking it back to 1987...
David Bowie has debuted ‘Beat Of Your Drum 2018’, the latest posthumous release from the music icon.
The track is a new reworking of Bowie’s 1987 single of the same name. It features on a new limited edition 7“ picture disc, which also includes a reworking of ‘Zeroes’.

Both tracks are taken from the remastered version of 1987 album ‘Never Let Me Down’, which is set to feature in the forthcoming ‘Loving The Alien’ box set.
Describing ‘Beat Of Your Drum’, producer Mario McNulty said: “David Torn’s ambient guitars start the song that now lead into a much darker world than its shiny predecessor. David sang all the backing vocals on this which I have kept.”
The remastered version of ‘Never Let Me Down’ marks a new production of Bowie’s final ‘solo’ album of the ‘80s – set for release as part of the ‘Loving The Alien’ box set on October 12.

Meanwhile, it was announced last week that a Bowie-themed cocktail bar will open in London later this month.
Named ‘Ziggy’s’, in honour of the star’s much-loved persona Ziggy Stardust, it launches on September 20 at the Hotel Café Royal.
The bar features a number of drinks inspired by the late icon’s 1972 album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars‘, and are named after his lyrics.
