Pinnock’s solo career has been highly anticipated ever since Little Mix took a break to work on their own music in 2022.
Today (June 16), the 31-year-old has unveiled her first-ever solo single and music video for the dance–pop track, ‘Don’t Say Love’. The garage and house-inspired track was produced by Jon Bellion and Pete Nappi and co-written by Aldae, and sees the star deal in the complexities of love.
The video is an abstract re-telling of Leigh-Anne’s career to date. The fashion-forward Emil Nava-directed music video startS with Pinnock flickering between reality and fantasy.
“‘Don’t Say Love’ is about no longer seeking external validation and regaining my confidence and sense of self in a world where I often felt misunderstood and unheard,” said Pinnock. “This video is a visual representation of me finding my voice. I’m excited to continue to do so with my first love, music.”
‘Don’t Say Love’ is out now via Warner Records. Have a listen to the track below.
Little Mix formed in 2011 and became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time by 2022, as well as one of the UK’s biggest-selling acts. They sold over 75million records worldwide and earned six UK Platinum albums and over 15billion streams.
Last December, she told fans that new music was on its way: “I’ll be giving you as much music as I can as soon as it’s ready.” She promised she was “working really hard” on it and is “so happy with what we’ve made so far.”
Following the band announcing their split in 2021, Pinnock made her film debut in the Christmas movie, Boxing Day. She praised her fellow Little Mix members for their support whilst she did the role.
