LMFAO deny split and say they’ll return ‘stronger than ever’

Duo promise their next album will be 'amazing crazy'

LMFAO have denied rumours that they are splitting permanently – and have warned the public they plan to return “stronger than ever”.

Last week it was revealed that the electropop chart duo were taking a break to pursue solo projects, leading to speculation of a split. But in an interview with MTV, the duo insisted they are only planning a temporary hiatus and will not be breaking up.

Addressing the rumours, the band’s SkyBlu said:

Well, you know, first of all, we’re not breaking up. I know that for sure. We’re family and stuff, so it’s always love.

Going on to discuss their plans for the future and the reason behind their break, he stated: “It’ll free up our minds and stuff to be able to take on another LMFAO project because the next one we do it’s got to be that like amazing, amazing crazy album and stuff like that.”

“It’s kind of like, let us get our wind up, let us kind of show the world who we are as individuals and then we come together stronger than ever,” he concluded.

Last Friday (September 21), music fans took to NME‘s Facebook page to express their delight at the news. Cherry Amber Wiles wrote, “The world is now a better place”, while a similarly gleeful Aimee Foote wrote “this hasn’t made my friday…THIS HAS MADE MY LIFE!:’)” and William Knox said “Some faith in humanity has been restored…”.

Meanwhile, commenting on the band’s outlandish fashion sense, Guillermo Paz asked “What am I gonna do with all my zebra print tights?”

However, some fear was expressed over the duo’s possible plans for solo material, with Brad Lednik writing: “Great… Now we’re going to end up with two bands that are super annoying.”

LMFAO have released two albums, 2009’s ‘Party Rock’ and 2011’s ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’.
