NME.COM is forced to break the tragic news to pop pickers worldwide...

LOLLY’s pop career has come to an end, NME.COM is sad to confirm.

Her spokesperson told NME.COM: “Technically she is still signed to the label, but has decided she doesn’t want to make another record and effectively has released herself from her contract. The option for her contract’s not up until January, but she just feels it’s time to move on.”

“She’s actually off on tour as a singer with Marilyn Manson. She met up with him when he came over. And of course Dr Dre’s on the label so she could end up being one of his bitches.”

The plan had been for the release of Lolly’s version of Donny Osmond’s ‘Puppy Love’, taken from second album ‘Pick ‘N’ Mix’, to coincide with its appearance in the movie ‘102 Dalmations’.

On Lolly’s future plans, NME.COM is told that Lolly “wants to go to pursue other avenues. She’s done stuff for MTV Select in the past and that’s gone really well, and of course before this she was in things like ‘Starlight Express’. In a way she’s been a little wasted in her role as a pop star icon for the tweenies”.

Her spokesperson suggested that Lolly would be reclaiming her real name, Anna, for future business. In the meantime a nation mourns the loss of one of pop’s true innovators.
