Looks like Ed Sheeran will be performing at the Royal Wedding

Ed Sheeran has been asked to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, it’s been reported.

Following the ‘Shape of You’ singer previously showing interest in singing at the Royal Wedding this May, it appears the groom-to-be has now taken him up on his offer.

According to US Weekly, “Prince Harry has personally requested Ed perform at his wedding.”

It’s looking like a hectic weekend for Sheeran, then. Held on Saturday May 19, the upcoming nuptials fall on the same day of Sheeran’s third show at Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

It has also been rumoured that Elton John could perform for the newlyweds, after he cancelled two of his performances in Las Vegas in order to attend the ceremony.

In more bizarre news, Wayne Rooney is reportedly planning a surprise performance at Ed Sheeran’s own wedding.

The former Manchester United turned Everton footballer and the singer have long been friends, and now Rooney has reportedly ‘vowed’ to sing when the star marries Cherry Seaborn – “whether he likes it or not”.

The pair have frequently been spotted singing together at shows and karaoke nights.

Meanwhile, Sheeran has recently given fans an update on his next LP – claiming that the ‘Divide’ follow-up “is not a pop album”.
