Speaking about being sent up by the animated TV show, Lorde told New Zealand’s TV3 that she and her friends found the episode funny and sang a section of comedy song ‘I Am Lorde Ya Ya Ya’.

“I was thinking, ‘Yeah he has a moustache…I mean I have a moustache, but is it that prominent?’ she said. “But it was someone’s dad pretending to be me. We actually, in my hotel room, went ‘Ya ya ya ya I am Lorde! Ya ya ya!’ for like an hour, because that’s what they do on the episode, so…”

Lorde previously tweeted her approval of the episode and posted clips from the show to her Instagram page. Lorde described one scene as “actually surprisingly cute – and from what I can tell” Another clip was accompanied by the words “Well shit this is downright sweet. Take that haters, I got a South Park episode.”
