Lorde has revealed her new single ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’. Scroll down to listen now.
The track will feature on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Hunger Games film and was made with Adele and Coldplay producer Paul Epworth. The song was recorded at New Jersey’s Lakehouse Recording Studios after the premises were recommended to the singer by Bruce Springsteen.
Today (September 29) marks the one year anniversary since the release of Lorde’s debut album ‘Pure Heroine’. The singer posted a message to fans on her Tumblr to commemorate the occasion, in which she discusses the changes that success has brought to her life.
“The past year of my life has seen everything around me multiply in size and number – the stamps on my passport, the number of people I have to ask before I ride on the ferris wheel after my set at a festival, the decibels that follow me when I walk around in public. The other thing that’s grown is me – my fitness, my mental stamina, my ability to think clearly and make decisions – but most of all, my capacity for love. The thousands upon thousands (wait, millions(?!!)) of you who bought ‘Pure Heroine’ truly feel like friends to me.” The full post can be read here.
Lorde will also curate the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, working on the music for the third film adaptation from the best-selling book series, which will be released on November 21.
