Lorde denies lip syncing during Saturday Night Live performance with Disclosure

The 'Royals' singer took to Twitter to put down accusations

Lorde has taken to Twitter to dispel rumours from fans that she lip synced during her Saturday Night Live performance with Disclosure this weekend.

Some viewers were apparently so impressed with the artist’s performance that they were convinced she was not singing live, reports Billboard.

But the New Zealand-born songwriter was adamant this was not true. She posted, “Wow – the fact that some people thought i was lip syncing on snl is an awesome compliment! goes without saying i have never/will never haha.”

She later tweeted, “We’re just a bunch of kids from far away places and we played on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE! it’s all a bit overwhelming and i’m crazy grateful.”

Lorde performed ‘Magnets’, taken from Disclosure’s second, September-released album ‘Caracal’, with the London duo on the night, but she wasn’t the only musical guest on the show. Sam Smith joined Disclosure on lead single ‘Omen’.
