The cover segued into 'Hard Feelings'

Lorde covered St Vincent at her gig in New York City last night (April 4).

The New Zealand singer played the city’s Barclays Center on Wednesday night, where she was joined by BleachersJack Antonoff for – rather aptly – a rendition of St Vincent’s ‘New York’.

The cover then segued into Lorde’s song ‘Hard Feelings’. Watch footage from the show below.

It was recently reported that ex-Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus wants to collaborate with Lorde in the future, and is hopeful because she owes him a “favour”.

The Jicks singer said that he had almost asked Lorde to appear on his band’s new album ‘Sparkle Hard’, which is out on May 18. Prompted to elaborate, Malkmus told Pitchfork: “I did something for her. I don’t wanna say [what]. I did her a favour.”

“It wasn’t a big deal,” Malkmus added. “It’s not very exciting. It obviously wasn’t big enough to get her to potentially sing on a tune. Maybe her parents are Pavement fans or something, so I’m still hoping [for a collaboration].”
