Los Campesinos! reveal that third album is nearly finished

Frontman Gareth Campesinos! confirms that LP is in its final stages on band's blog

Los Campesinos! have confirmed that they have almost completed work on their third album.

Writing on the band’s blog, frontman Gareth Campesinos! revealed that the Welsh group were currently putting the finishing touches to the LP, which will be the follow-up to their 2010 record ‘Romance Is Boring’.

Although the band are yet to confirm a release date or title for the album, the singer said that they were close to deciding on a final tracklisting, and that they were currently finishing mixing the LP.

He wrote:

I know that a lot of people get frustrated during the period of time between an album being declared “finished” and the album’s actual release, so I thought I’d let you know what’s going on at the moment.

He added:

Right now, our main man and sound guru, Tom is exchanging final mixes with producer John Goodmanson, pruning every last note and drum hit tomake sure every soung sounds as perfect as it can.

The singer then went on to confirm that the band would begin mastering the album “next week”, before adding:

So by the time of mastering, we’ll have a final tracklisting, something which seems so close but is so important that it’s really hard to finally settle on something. And that’s why I would never dream of listening to an album on shuffle. They’re in that order for a reason, y’know?

The as-yet-untitled album will be the band’s first studio LP since the departure of their former drummer and founding member, Ollie Campesinos!, in June last year.
