Lou Reed, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon for Japan earthquake fundraiser shows

Two New York fundraiser gigs are in the pipeline

Lou Reed, Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon are among the musicians set to play at fundraising gigs for the victims of the recent natural disasters in Japan.

Reed will play as part of a 12-hour concert at New York‘s Japan Society HQ on April 9. Philip Glass and Hal Willner will perform together at the show, with Laurie Anderson and composer John Zorn, who has organised the event, also on the bill.

Then, on March 27, another fundraiser concert will take place at Columbia University‘s Miller Theatre in the city. Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto and Mike Patton are on the bill for that show, reports Theawl.com.

Proceeds will go to the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

Lady Gaga has also been helping out the cause, selling wristbands she designed to raise money.
