HOW THE WEST COAST WAS WON!

The Californian event brings the stars out...

A host of rockers came out to support the MODEST MOUSE curated ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES in southern CALIFORNIA this weekend.

Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle and drummer Andy Granelli, Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwan and No Doubt axeman Tom Dumont all turned up in Long Beach for the event.

The southern California version of ATP was held inside the Queen Mary, a cruise liner built in Britain in the 1930s, now docked at Long Beach harbour, and on the grass just shore side of the ship.

Though the event didn’t sell out, hundreds of fans turned out over the weekend to see Modest Mouse, Stephen Malkmus, The Shins, Built to Spill, Eagles of Death Metal, Peaches and Flaming Lips.

Lou Reed’s closing set on night one was particularly well received after the former Velvet Underground frontman opened with ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties’.

Eagles of Death Metal packed out the Ship Stage on Night Two, as Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme drummed alongside bandmate Joey Castillo.

Organizers of All Tomorrow’s Parties will next stage The Night Before Christmas in London (December 3-5) featuring Mercury Rev, Peaches and Aphex Twin.
