Loyle Carner has hailed ADHD as a “superpower” during his acceptance speech at the VO5 NME Awards 2018.

As he accepted the award for Best British Solo Artist, Carner paid tribute to people living with dyslexia and ADHD, after he previously documented his own experiences with the conditions.

Hailing it as a superpower, Carner said: ” What the fuck! I didn’t see coming it all. This is for my mum and brother and my missus”.

Loyle Carner collects the Best British Solo Artist award

He released his debut album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ in January 2017, while he also contributed to the book Dyslexia Is My Superpower (Most Of The Time), modelled for YSL and Burberry, and shared the Glastonbury limelight with his mum in the last 12 months.

Carner also recently collaborated with Tom Misch, dropping a verse for his track ‘Water Baby’ featuring a verse from frequent collaborator Loyle Carner.

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Misch previously appeared on Carner’s 2017 album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ on the single ‘Damselfly’.
