Ludacris to play Guantánamo Bay on Independence Day

Ludacris is to perform at Guantánamo Bay on Independence Day.

The rapper will play at the US Navy base in Cuba for the families, troops of Department Of Defense contractors who live there.

The 89 war-on-terror prisoners who are detained there will not be able to hear the performance, however, reports the Miami Herald.

Ludacris will perform as part of the Freedom Festival on July 4, which takes place at Guantánamo’s Windward Ferry Landing, which is miles away from the prison camps.

There will also be family activities and fireworks on the day.

Ludacris is not the first artist to perform at the base. Magic! played at the festival last year, while Jimmy Eat World and Plain White T’s have also taken part in the past.
