Singer's new album out on May 5
Lykke Li has revealed the trailer for her new album ‘I Never Learn’ – click above to watch.
The Swedish singer-songwriter will release the LP, which is her third studio album and the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Wounded Rhymes’, on May 5.
Speaking previously to NME about the record, Li said it would be the third part in a trilogy of her albums, claiming that the album covers the “intense period” of being a woman in her 20s. “I see my albums as a trilogy, with [2007 debut] ‘Youth Novels’ as the first one and hopefully this one as the last in this chapter,” she said.
“It’s always about me and the guilt and the shame and the hurt and the pride and the confusion of being a woman,” she continued, before adding: “I always feel like I’ve been slightly misunderstood. As a woman you get judged for appearances or things like that I don’t really care about. If anything I want to be seen as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop artist. I really feel like I’ve found my voice.”
Last year, Li made a cameo appearance on film director David Lynch’s album ‘The Big Dream’, and has also branched into acting – she will star in the forthcoming Swedish crime thriller Tommy, which is released on March 14.
