Mac DeMarco to collaborate with ’80s one-hit wonder Ryan Paris

Paris' 1983 hit 'Dolce Vita' reached Number Five in the UK chart

Mac DeMarco looks set to work with an Italian crooner who had a hit in the 1980s.

Ryan Paris (born Fabio Roscioli) reached Number Five in the UK charts with ‘Dolce Vita’ in 1983, also making the Top Ten in several other European countries.

Stereogum reports that DeMarco discussed his love for the song in a 2014 Pitchfork mock-documentary called Pepperoni Playboy.

Paris later saw the video and posted a video of his own last month, inviting DeMarco to “do a remix of ‘Dolce Vita’ together”.

DeMarco has now responded to the invite, saying in a new clip: “Love the tracks, love the videos. Yes, I’m also Italian and have been having a great 2016 and hope you have been as well.”

“Very interested in working with you,” DeMarco added. “I’ll find some way of trying to contact you, or you can contact me.”

Mac DeMarco recently shared an unreleased song called ‘Missin The Old Me’.

2015 saw DeMarco release two records: the instrumental ‘Some Other Ones’ and mini-album ‘Another One’.
