Mac DeMarco shares cover of ‘White Christmas’

The Canadian artist gets into the festive spirit, albeit belatedly

Mac DeMarco has shared a cover of ‘White Christmas’ on his YouTube page.

The Canadian artist quietly released his own version of Irving Berlin and Bing Crosby’s Chirstmas standard, titled ‘White Chirstma$’, on Boxing Day, writing “Twas the season” in a caption accompanying the video. The artwork for the track is a photo of Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks wearing a Santa hat.

DeMarco is an avid Star Wars fan, boasting of having seen the latest instalment to the series Star Wars: The Force Awakens three times on its opening weekend in his video review of the film. In the bizarre video, DeMarco eschews analysing the film and instead posts pictures of Jar Jar Binks while Episode I – The Phantom Menace theme ‘Duel Of The Fates’ plays in the background.

DeMarco recently launched his own fan club, which is being overseen by his mother, Agnes, and his manager, Michelle Cable.

The Mac DeMarco Fan Club is an online community for fans, who will receive newsletters, information about meet-and-greets, contests and more.
