Mac DeMarco’s old band Makeout Videotape to reissue ‘Ying Yang’ album – listen

The record was originally released in 2010

Makeout Videotape, the former band of singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco, are set to re-release an album they released five years ago.

‘Ying Yang’ was originally released in 2010, prior to DeMarco pursuing his solo career. It will now be reissued via the Thursday Friday label on August 20, limited to a run of 1,200 12-inch copies.

Makeout Videotape consisted of DeMarco and bandmate Alex Calder, who, like DeMarco, also releases solo music through Captured Tracks.

The Canadian singer-songwriter recently released his new mini-album ‘Another One’.

‘Another One’ follows on from 2014 LP ‘Salad Days’, NME‘s Number Two album of last year. “It’s all love songs this time,” DeMarco told NPR of the record. “It’s just kind of like every angle of how somebody might feel if they’re having strange feelings in their chest.”

Mac DeMarco has been busy of late. Just last month he dropped a nine-track instrumental album called ‘Some Other Ones’.

DeMarco also recently performed ‘No Other Heart’ on a rowboat that he bought on his birthday this year.
