That's one hell of a party...
With an already impressive bill, the Madrid event in July will welcome the likes of The Cure, The National, Iggy Pop, The 1975, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver, Robyn, Sharon Van Etten, Yonaka, The Gossip, Lauryn Hill, and others.
However before the main festivities begin, Mad Cool will host a Welcome Party on Wednesday July 10 with 16 bands playing in the somewhat more intimate Valdebebas venue.
Also performing will be Rosalia, Metronomy, Viagra Boys, The Cat Empire, Don Broco, The Amazons, Griz, Whispering Sons, Blake, The Parrots, Anier, Fusa Nocta, and FAVX.
Tickets to the Welcome Party go on sale from Friday April 19 at 12pm and will be available here.
While she’ll also be returning to the UK to perform with Florence & The Machine and The National at British Summer Time in Hyde Park, Lykke Li also recently announced an all-female festival in LA featuring the likes of Courtney Love and Charli XCX, in collaboration with her brand of YOLA Mezcal.

“IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING, MY WOMEN, MY GUITARS!,” she wrote on Twitter. “WE WILL GATHER UNDER THE STARS TO SING AND DANCE, AND DRINK AND GRIND, AND FIGHT THE FIGHT! FROM @YOLAMEZCAL AND ME, THIS WILL BE THE PLACE TO BE!”
Lykke’s brand of mezcal, YOLA, which the festival is named after, is the first company to employ and pay women in the Mexican state of Oaxaca directly. In an interview with NME last year, the artist said how her new favourite tipple, provided by “the most gorgeous women she’d ever met”, prompted her mission to “create the first all-female booze brand and take over the world with it”.
