Singer blamed technical difficulties for the long delay
Madonna labelled her own fans “bitches” after being booed for arriving onstage a hour late at her Manchester show on Monday night (December 14).
The pop singer played Manchester Arena as part of her ‘Rebel Heart’ tour. Manchester Evening News reports that fans grew tired of the long wait, with many voicing their anger by booing the star.
One fan later tweeted: “Over 50mins late at Manchester Arena and no announcements. Not acceptable. People have jobs to go to @Madonna”.
Video footage from the show sees Madonna addressing the delay after eventually taking to the stage.
“I want to thank you all for waiting,” she told fans. “I don’t like to be late by the way and all you bitches who keep complaining about it can shut the fuck up. I’m not back there eating chocolate, filing my nails and getting my extensions done.”
The star explained: “The video crashed… so we had to wait until we could reboot. No selfish diva bitch reason. If you diva bitches want to keep complaining about it [then] don’t come to my show.”

At the Paris gig of her ‘Rebel Heart’ tour, Madonna paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the recent terror attacks in the city. She told the audience: “We will not bend down to fear! I think of what happened almost four weeks ago now. The heart of Paris and the heart of France beats in the heart of each city.”
“I came here when I was 20 and it was here, in Paris, that I decided to make music. Thank you Paris for planting that seed in my heart!”
