Madge sported an S Club 7 t-shirt onstage recently - maybe she'll end up regretting it...

AT THE DRIVE-IN, FOO FIGHTERS MELANIE C and BILLIE PIPER all release singles today (November 27), but the main battle for Number One this coming Sunday (December 3) looks likely to be between MADONNA and S CLUB 7.

Madonna releases ‘Don’t Tell Me’, the second single from her recent ‘Music’ album, today, while S Club 7 release ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’ through Polydor.

A chart expert at HMV in London told NME.COM the battle for Number One this coming Sunday (December 3) would be between these two. He said: “Madonna is releasing only the second single from her album so the track has an amount on longevity, while S Club 7’s new record is helping with the Children In Need campaign so that will have massive promotion too.”

In the other single releases, At The Drive-In release the Iggy Pop assisted ‘Rolodex Propaganda’, while the Foo Fighters release their new record ‘Next Year’ through RCA. Other pop newies come from Melanie C, who releases ‘If That Were Me’, and Billie Piper, who releases ‘Walk Of Life’ through Virgin.

In the album charts, Rage Against the Machine release their album of cover versions, ‘Renegades’, teen popsters the Sugababes release their debut album ‘One Touch’ and Truesteppers release their new record ‘True Stepping’.

However NME.COM has learnt that it is unlikely that the Beatles’ greatest hits compilation, ‘1’, will be knocked off their current position at Number One “before Christmas”.
