Tickets change hands for up to £300 as the star records an appearance for 'Top Of The Pops'...

MADONNA rehearsed for her ‘TOP OF THE POPS’ appearance in an S CLUB 7 T-shirt last night (November 23) – while ticketless fans were offering up to £300 in an attempt to watch the filming of her first UK television appearance this year.

Madonna was at the BBC studios in Elstree to record two tracks for the show, the first of which will be aired on this evening’s ‘TOTP’ from 7pm.

Madonna rehearsed for the show in a T-shirt with the band name S Club 7 across the front – she has previously worn similar tops with Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue logos.

She then ditched the top in favour of a cowboy hat and boots to record forthcoming single ‘Don’t Tell Me’, before changing outfit again to record former single ‘Music’.

According to those present at the event, ticket touts were at the local railway station and main BBC gates – attempting to buy and sell the complimentary tickets at a vast profit. One ticketholder also claimed to have been offered £300 cash from a fan for her ticket.

A spokesperson for the show told NME.COM that kind of demand was “unprecedented”. She continued: “Once inside I have never seen a crowd like it – they were wetting their knickers! I don’t know how they knew who was on the show but they did, some even made the effort and wore Cowboy hats!”

Madonna will make a live performance at the London Brixton Academy on Tuesday (November 28). She has also revealed plans to tour European arenas in 2001.
