MAX FACTOR are denying reports that MADONNA has been dropped from being the global face of their cosmetics range, insisting that her contract was “only ever for a year”.
Madonna was signed to the cosmetics company last year and has to date made over six million dollars promoting their ‘Gold’ range. At the time it was made clear that Madonna had only agreed to take part because of Max Factor’s long-standing relationship with Hollywood idols such as Marlene Dietrich.
A series of billboard campaigns and even television advertisements followed, but the relationship has now ended, prompting rumours that Max Factor had dumped Madonna. But a spokeswoman says: “Madonna’s contract was only ever for a year as she was the ‘Face Of The Millennium’. We have many tools in our armoury and she followed in the footsteps of Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlene Dietrich. I’m sure she’s not upset – she never likes to repeat herself, anyway.”
