Madonna is on the brink of pulling out of her plan to buy a £2 million
villa in UMBRIA, ITALY.
As PeopleNews revealed yesterday, the singer
made an offer on an eight-bedroom home called La Carlina. But the deal
has been hampered by the villa’s eccentric owner, Marchesa Marina Ripa
di Meana, who wants her to perform a ‘no fee’ concert as part of the
deal.
“Madonna has made a very generous offer and is not going to be
held to ransom,” says one source.
Madonna has now ordered agents to
widen their search for the perfect holiday hideaway. Several owners of
palatial villas in the region around Perugia have been approached by a
Florence-based estate agent acting for the star. A quick sale is
unlikely, however: the singer is insisting that the villa have at
least seven bedrooms, at least one large swimming pool, extensive
grounds and guaranteed privacy from prying paparazzi lenses.
