Comedian ALI G is set to feature in the video for MADONNA’S new single, Music.
According to press reports, Ali G, real name Sacha Baron Cohen, travelled to Hollywood two weeks ago and filmed the video for ‘Music’, thought to be the title track from Madonna‘s forthcoming studio album.
Madonna‘s manager Caresse Norman told The Observer newspaper on Sunday (April 30) that Madonna, who now lives most of the year in the UK, became an Ali G fan after seeing a video of him over Christmas.
Norman said: “She watched the tape and thought it was brilliant – the Peter Sellers of our generation. We came up with the video idea, and she thought he would be great in it.”
Spokespersons for both Ali G, and Madonna could not confirm or deny any collaboration had taken place this morning. However, Norman revealed that Ali G is prominent in the video for the single, which is expected to be released in August. She said: “There is a strong storyline, but we are not saying what it is. We are keeping it under wraps because we don’t want to spoil the surprise.”
Madonna currently working on her new album with a variety of collaborators, including French dance maverick Mirwais, who is in London writing and producing a number of tracks. House DJ Sasha and William Orbit, who produced her critically acclaimed 1998 album ‘Ray Of Light’, are also involved with the record.
