Watch Maggie Rogers and Mallrat team up for a stunning cover of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Video Games’

Mallrat is currently supporting Rogers on her tour

Up-and-coming Brisbane musician Mallrat teamed up with Maggie Rogers to lead a cover of Lana Del Rey‘s 2011 single ‘Video Games’ at a show in Frankfurt, Germany over the weekend (March 2).

Mallrat is currently supporting Rogers on the latter’s European tour, and the headliner provided backing vocals to a sombre rendition of the song. Elle Puckett, a musician and Rogers’ touring guitarist, was on instrumental duties.

Mallrat uploaded fan footage of the performance to her Instagram, which you can see below. She commented: “when @maggierogers is your back up singer? Thank you angel @rosieugly for playing the guitar and @lanadelrey for your beautiful music.”

Rogers’ tour is in support of her debut album ‘Heard It In A Past Life’. The LP – which was released in January – was described by NME as “intoxicating” and “the work of an idiosyncratic talent”.

The American musician is no stranger to a live collaboration or two. During her show at London’s Brixton Academy last month Florence Welch made a surprise appearance for a duet of the single ‘Light On’ together, with Rogers naming Welch her “musical big sister” and a “powerful witch”.

When Mumford And Sons’ ‘Delta’ tour hit Birmingham last November, Rogers joined the group on ‘Beloved’, which was taken from their most recent record. She had supported the band earlier that evening.
