Manhattan D.A. recommends prison time and sex offender registration for rapper 6ix9ine

Authorities say the rapper has violated his plea agreement by committing more crimes

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office have recommended rapper 6ix9ine be given prison time and registered as a sex offender.

The Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, pled guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance in October 2015. He then entered into a plea agreement that required him not to commit another crime for two years.

The D.A.’s office have now claimed that Hernandez has violated that agreement. He was arrested in July for allegedly choking a 16-year-old in January of this year. In May, he was arrested for driving without a license and for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to Pitchfork, the District Attorney’s Office filed a letter the presiding judge in Hernandez’s case recommending he be sentenced to state prison for one to three years. They also asked for him to be registered as a sex offender.

Sentencing in the case has been adjourned until October 2. 6ix9ine has yet to comment on the news.

Meanwhile, the rapper was reportedly attacked, robbed, and kidnapped after filming a music video in Brooklyn in July.

6ix9ine is said to have been followed by three men as he made his way home from the shoot. The attackers reportedly blocked his driveway when he returned home and forced him into their vehicle.

The rapper later suggested the incident was “an inside job”, saying: “The only person who can get a Pharaoh in Egypt is the person who helped build the fuckin’ kingdom.”
